New York to me is one of those places. One tied to deeply personal and beautiful memories, that resurface at a flavor, a feeling, or a friend.
New York is a moment. It warrants your absolute attention. It changes on the daily, and doesn’t slow down for anyone.
A side-effect of that dynamism is the daily capacity to be left behind. No time for disruptions or diversions, it’s a go-go-go place that is full of people always in the past, the now, and the next.
New York is exigent. And it is not for the faint of heart. Those who travel there are compelled, by leisure or occupation, family, or being. Were were drawn by art – theater to be clear – and traveled to the most famous street for it.
It is the only place for it on this side of the ocean, and although we’d travel to NY for any other worthy reason, this one had weight. We couldn’t be late. Couldn’t be ill. Not in this place, en route to Harry Potter.
And oh was it magical. Every bit of what Krystin wanted, everything that I couldn’t begin to fathom. This play, and it’s home, is full of excitement, and combustion, humanity and reverence, hope and dirt.
Infinitely under construction, much like our understanding of the world, we went to New York to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, so apart from what can be garnered from this photo story, you can assume we’ll keep the rest as secrets.
