SHOW MOMENTS FROM THE BLUE MADONNA TOUR

ESSAY IS A 2 MINUTE READ ☞ JUMP TO THE SHOW MOMENTS

Almost all of my show moments are shot on my canon. A little point-and-shoot I bought in 2015. I actually did sets with this little work horse, and was since replaced by my DSLR.

But there are occasions where you either cannot or do not want to bring your lenses and the body needs to be attached to them permanently to be permissible.

And here’s the thing – I’m likely giving myself away by finally writing about my show moments. See, my little canon has 30x optical zoom. Newer models have triple that – but the vintage, beat-up look of my little buddy makes it so it gets through no problem.

Almost all of my show moments are shot from the cheap seats, and you can tell as the compromised quality is often it’s aesthetic. But like my memory, they are imperfect and beautiful. These show moments take me right back, and put you right there.

I know that you’re not supposed to film a concert. This is content I really do not own. Sure I framed and edited it, but the stage, the lights, the performance, that’s someone else’s art, and I paid a pretty penny to witness it. If the subject or platform of publication of any moment felt the same, it will be removed in a beat.

But these show moments are memories, and ones that I would call un-monetized moments for myself. They are an intimate experience with my favorite artists and usually another thousand fans. It’s so when the show is over, it is never really over, and it holds me over until the next time they come to town.

It is a little selfish, undoubtedly, but I make no claim, and make no money, and if it makes someone else want to buy a ticket and experience the magic first hand, well that’s why we make things in the first place.

So if you play the videos below – you’ll be, for 60 seconds or less, at the Blue Madonna Tour with the amazing BORNS. To Garrett: this album is masterful and you are a true talent.
